Barbados issued its polymer series of vertically oriented banknotes on December 5, 2022.
This banknote series was honored as the Best New Series at the Latin American High Security Printing conference in 2023. All banknotes initially carried the year 2022 on them and were signed by Governor Cleviston Haynes, who served as Governor from January 1, 2018 until March 1, 2023. Mr. Haynes' printed name does not appear on the any of the denominations, just his signature.

Two years later, Barbados reprinted the series, changing the signature of the Governor to Kevin Greenidge, who became the new Governor on March 1, 2023. On all denominations, the printed name of the Governor "DR. KEVIN GREENIDGE" was added above the word "GOVERNOR."
It appears, though, that the 20-dollar and 100-dollar denominations were the first to be reprinted, either before the decision was made to include the Governor's printed name or it was forgotten. The first print runs of these two denominations include the new signature but not the printed name. This was corrected soon thereafter.
Observed prefixes for the varieties of the 20-dollar and 100-dollar denominations dated 2024:
