On August 25, 2025, the Banco de México issued overprinted versions of their current banknotes of 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 pesos to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its creation.
The 50- and 100-peso banknotes are polymer. The higher denominations are paper banknotes.
The banknote designs are the same as the ones currently in circulation, with the addition of the commemorative overprint "100 Aniversario / 1925 – 2025". The overprint is located below the bank logo on the front of each banknote. The polymer 20-peso banknote was not overprinted.
These commemorative banknotes will be issued for a limited time.
