Official sources in the UK are reporting that no new polymer denominations will be issued for any of the seven UK banknote-issuing banks.

This means that the seven different series of circulation banknotes are now complete:

England
- Bank of England: £5, £10, £20 and £50

Northern Ireland
- Bank of Ireland: £5, £10 and £20
- Danske Bank: £10 and £20
- Ulster Bank: £5, £10, £20 and £50

Scotland:
- Bank of Scotland: £5, £10, £20 (regular and commemorative issues), £50 and £100
- Clydesdale Bank: £5, £10 and £20
- Royal Bank of Scotland: £5, £10, £20 and £50

The Bank of Ireland will not be issuing a £50 or £100 banknote, nor will Danske Bank. Clydesdale Bank will not be issuing a £50 or £100 banknote, because the brand name is now defunct. There are no more Clydesdale Bank branches in Scotland, it was acquired by Virgin Money UK plc and the rebranding to "Virgin Money" has been completed. Additionally, The Royal Bank of Scotland will not be issuing a polymer £100 banknote.
